Automation
The GenePath system is completely automated. This unit arrives with 22 protocols for separating the most commonly occurring infectious organisms. The GenePath system does not require the user to enter specific run parameters, making the technology accessible to clinical personnel with minimum training.

Customization
The GenePath system can accept conditions via an optional PC software program that allows the user to input run conditions such as initial and final switch time, run time, and voltage. This feature allows the clinical laboratory to be responsive to new subtypes of infectious agents and new protocols. The GenePath system will store up to 100 protocols.

Application Versatility
The GenePath system is specifically for the clinical molecular epidemiology customer. It does not offer features for optimizing nonclinical applications. The GenePath unit does feature flexibility in the range of epidemiological species that can be typed. These systems are complemented by reagent kits created for the GenePath system, which include all the necessary reagents for screening fifty isolates in duplicate.
